Saturday, July 19, 2008 The inspection was a success!! Results are listed below. Many, many thanks to my friends, Kim Andrews and Shana Ruckriegle who worked very, very hard in helping me run this inspection. Kim's sloppy joe's, brownies and cookies were a huge hit! Kim helped manage the inspection by getting horses in on time and getting paper work to the inspectors. Shana worked very hard in helping to make the mares beautiful with her braiding. Shana's managerial skills shined as well the morning of the inspection and she also lended her helping hands to one of our breeders in getting her horses into the ring. Linda Woltz of Walnut-Hill Farm was our official Handler and she did a FANTASTIC job! Amy Brachthauser was our professional photographer. She was our photographer in 2007 as well and was brought back by popular demand! Amy is not only VERY talented but also kind, honest and a hard worker. As always, Findlay University was organized, clean and efficient. Holly Simonsen and Tobias Hanke were the inspectors. They shared with us their knowledge, experience and recommendations. Their scoring was very tough, but very fair. Thank you Holly and Tobias! We look forward to seeing you again next year! RESULTS
* Our leased mare, Dona Rubina (Dr. Doolittle/Rubinstein I), owned by Julie Soltow, was at the repro clinic and inseminated on Saturday so she was not able to make it to Findlay for the inspection. However, since we finished the inspection early, the inspectors agreed to travel to the repro clinic to inspect Rubi. Rubi received an overall score of 7.0!!! Yea, Rubi! I imported Rubi inutero in 2003 when I purchased her dam, Raissa, by Rubinstein I. Raissa was a SUPER producer by producing 9 quality and healthy foals in a row! We are hoping that Rubi will follow in her dam's footsteps.
Congratulations to our homebred, Maybach (Landwerder/Budweiser), on her success at the Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society Inspection on July 19, 2008 in achieving an overall score of 6.9. Maybach has been started under saddle and is being prepared for her MPT in September. Maybach is in foal to Rubino Bellisimo for 2009!
